But speed often comes at a premium and not every customer - individual or business - expects, or even needs, it. For B2C, assess whether slower delivery options could work for certain regions or products. For B2B, consider whether bulk shipments, scheduled deliveries, or more flexible timelines can reduce costs without impacting the customer’s needs.

Communicating realistic delivery times helps set clear expectations and allows you to optimise costs. Shifting the focus from speed to reliability - whether delivering to customers or businesses - maintains consistent service and supports long-term relationships while saving on unnecessary expenses.
