Does technology matter?

Section 2 : Technology in everyday life for entrepreneurs

66%

Technology has become a critical enabler for us entrepreneurs, influencing how we manage our operations, connect with customers and even how we handle our finances. Access to mobile technology and the internet has made it easier for business owners to stay on top of our work while on the move and digital tools have opened up new possibilities for growth, even for those with limited resources.

For instance, mobile payment systems have revolutionised how entrepreneurs handle transactions, making it easier for small businesses to accept payments without needing traditional banking infrastructure. It doesn’t matter if you are running a food stall, a small retail business, or a service-based company, technology has made it possible to transact securely and efficiently with customers anywhere in the country.

However, while these advancements have unlocked potential for growth, they also highlight the importance of digital literacy. We must make sure we are not just using technology, but using it well. Mismanagement of digital tools, poor customer communication, or neglecting cybersecurity could cost us valuable business opportunities. Thus, while technology facilitates business processes, it requires a proactive approach to fully realise its potential in our day-to-day business operations.
