Bulawayo to Host ATLAS Western Region Entrepreneurship Competition, April 19-21,

Bulawayo, April 18, 2024 - As part of the ATLAS vision to reignite Zimbabwe's industrial capacity and unlock the potential of entrepreneurs to create profitable, positive impact enterprises, ATLAS will host the first Western Region Competition for Entrepreneurs, scheduled to take place from the April 19-21, 2024 in Bulawayo.
To address the diverse needs and challenges facing Zimbabwe, the ATLAS Venture Series aims to bolster four key sectors, namely, Agriculture, Energy, Environment and Health. A call for founders who are building businesses within the four sectors was announced on National Youth Day, 21 February 2024. The entrepreneurs were invited to apply on the ATLAS Ventures website at www.zimatlas.com. A selection committee has since reviewed all qualified applicants and selected the final cohort of participants who will be invited to attend the upcoming event which includes training, a business pitch session.
Two separate regional entrepreneurial competitions will be held this year. The April 19th ATLAS Western Region Competition will be the first regional competition. A second competition will be held in August for participants from Harare, Manicaland, Mashonaland Central, Mashonaland East and Mashonaland West. The top founders from the two regional events will be invited to the National Finals where the winners will be awarded investment capital and ongoing support to springboard their success as Zimbabwean entrepreneurs.
At all ATLAS events, participants receive professional, in-person training and business advice. They are also able to network with their peers and with industry leaders.
