Section 1 : Identify internal barriers

20%

Internal barriers often stem from our own thoughts, beliefs and emotions. Common internal obstacles include self-doubt, fear of failure, perfectionism and procrastination. Recognizing these barriers is the first step towards overcoming them.

For instance, self-doubt can cripple your confidence and prevent you from taking necessary risks. If you constantly question your abilities and decisions, it’s important to acknowledge this mindset and work towards building self-confidence.

Perfectionism is another internal barrier that can lead to paralysis by analysis. Striving for perfection often results in delays and missed opportunities. Accept that perfection is unattainable and focus on making progress instead of waiting for perfect conditions.

Procrastination, driven by fear or lack of motivation, can also hinder progress. Set clear goals, break them down into manageable tasks and hold yourself accountable to combat procrastination. You can also seek support from colleagues or mentors, who might provide guidance or insights and can also hold you accountable.
